Depending on the pain joints, connective tissue and muscles may become inflamed and swelled. These types of pain disorders are known as rheumatic pains. In medical term rheumatic diseases or rheumatizm is rheumatic pains. There are various types of rheumatic diseases. Osteoarthritis in short OA: OA is an old age arthritis problems. Therefore, sometimes it is identified as “wear and tear” arthritis. The heads of our bones have a semi-round and supple tissue called cartilage. Cartilage lets joints be easly moveable. Cartilage tissue of joints wears down with the passing years and causes pain complaints in fingers, hips, lower back, knees and neck. The symptoms of OA are: Joint pain, joint swelling, neck stiffness, joint instability, muscle pain and weakness. Besides OA causes difficulty in sitting down, standing up, bending over, walking, climbing up and coming down. Rheumatoid arthritis in short RA: RA is a type of arthritis in which women are proned rather than men. In RA, as a result of initiation of the immune system due to an unknown reason, the human body’s immune system attacks its own cartilaginous tissues in order to defend the body against aggressive stimulus. However, defensive measure of immune system may probably result in joint problems, disorders and syndrome such as damages, deformities and varuses. But, it is not yet known which bad condition cause immune system to get hyperactive. RA is the worst formation of arthritis types. Besides, it is the worst inflammatory rheumatic disease. The signs of RA are: Severe joint pain and swelling, symmetrical multiple joint involvements, visceral and muscle involvement, joint instability, fever, joint inflammation, muscle fatigue and weakness, rheumatoid nodules named condyles.

Systemic lupus erythematosus in short SLE or Lupus: Lupus erythematosus is another type of autoimmune disease in rheumatology. But, lupus is in disease of unknown etiology. The symptoms of SLE are: Joint pain and stiffness, sun sensitiveness, skin rashes across the cheeks, hair loss, discoloration of the fingers or toes as exposed to cold named Raynaud’s phenomenon, fatigue, visceral and kidney involvement, blood disoerders as anemia or blood clots, chest pain depending on hearth and lung inflammation, strokes or seizures. Ankylosing Spondylitis in short AS: AS is more common in men rather than women. It frequently begins slowly as low back pain syndrome. The characteristic mark of AS is the involvement of the joints at the bottom of the spine known as sacroiliac joints. The base of the spine is the region where the spine joins to the pelvis. In the course of time, the spine becomes stiffer and spinal and sacroiliac joint involvement develops which causes difficulty in bending for ordinary everyday activities. The symptoms of AS are: Slowly but surely pain in the lower back, buttocks or pelvic area, lower back pain that progressing toward the spine, pain in the neck and shoulder blades, pain and stiffness of spine. Sjogren’s syndrome: Sjogren’s syndrome is more common in women rather than men. The reason of this inflammatory autoimmune disease is unknown yet. It may occur with additional autoimmune diseases as RA and lupus. The signs of Sjogren’s syndrome include: Lack of tears and dry eyes or lack of lachrymal secretion, eye irritation, gum disease, tooth decay, thrush in mouth, decreased salivation and also swelling of the parotid and submandibular glands on the sides of the face. Besides, it may cause rarely joint stiffness or internal organ diseases or involvement. It is always claimed that there is a connecting link between rheumatism pains and weather conditions. If the weather is wet and cold pains increase! Otherwise, if the weather is dry and clear pains decrease!
