However patients wear a catheter for one or two days. 3- Laser surgery procedures are: a- Transurethral holmium laser ablation of the prostate (HoLAP) b- Transurethral holmium laser enucleation of the prostate (HoLEP) c- Holmium laser resection of the prostate (HoLRP) d-Photoselective vaporization of the prostate (PVP). In general laser operation is to destroy enlarged prostate tissue by high energy. Laser technique causes less loss of blood. 4- Open Prostate Surgery known as prostatectomy: In this type of surgery the tissue in the inner part of prostate gland is removed by the surgeon. Open prostatectomy is done if prostate gland is seriously enlarged and space occupying lesion.
