Ingrown Hair

Ingrown hair is a skin problem. Men and women should care their unwanted hair because of hygiene conditions. Those who want to get rid of unwanted hair use the methods as shaving, tweezing or waxing. In some cases, as a consequence of these routine ingrown hair may occur. The ingrown hair condition is formed as shaved, tweezed or waxed hair regrowing. The regrowing hair curls back or grows back sidelong into the skin. Ingrown hair usually develops in any part of the body where the skin is cut with razor blade, shaved, tweezed or waxed. It may appear in the form of bumps in the hair removal areas as beard, legs and pubic region. The bumps cause inflammation, pain, irritation and embarrassing. In males, ingrown hairs frequently seem in the beard region together with the cheeks, chin and particularly the neck. Besides, it can occur on the scalp in those who buzz cut their hair. In females, the most well-known settings for ingrown hairs are the armpits, legs, eyebrow and pubic areas. Everything that ends the hair to be broken into small pieces with a sharp-edge or sharp-tip may be the reason of ingrown hair. Is it possible not to remove hair in order to avoid an ingrown hair during lifetime? Of course, not! What are the signs and symptoms of both ingrown hairs or chronic ingrown hairs? 1- Small flesh-colored, rounded bumps and solid mass known as papules. 2- Tiny, pus-filled skin lesions like a blister called pustules.3- Embedded or ingrowth hairs. 4- Itching and pain. 5- Darkened skin named cutaneous hyperpigmentation. 6- Bacterial infections because of scratching. 7- Permanent scars. An ingrown hair from time to time is not a life-threatening condition. However, in some other cases it causes for alarm. If you can not help yourselves in managing an ingrown hair chronic condition, then you should see a doctor. An individual should seek medical advice if:

1- The disease of the skin gets worse because of chronic ingrown hair condition and it bocomes uncontrollable. 2- You are a teen girl or woman with excess unwanted hair growth known as hirsutism. In some cases, hormonal profiles and hormonal disorders can cause hirsutism, e.g. polycystic ovary syndrome. Do you know hair removal techniques that reduce the possibility of developing ingrown hair? The direction and structure of hair growth may cause ingrown hair. It is accepted that curved hair follicles which grow curly hair support the ingrown hair. For, shaving forms sharp-edges in curled hair type and these sharp edges may regrow sidewardly. In other words, sharp-edges may curl and reenter the skin while they are growing back which reasons extrafollicular penetration. When you put a strain on your facial nerve or facial muscle during shaving, the recently shaved hair tip may redraw back and reenter into the skin and causes transfollicular penetration. Double-edged razors may also cause ingrown hairs. For, the first sharp edge pulls the hair out and the second cutting edge shaves off it, which leads the hair to retract. Tweezing may also makes happen to transfollicular penetration because of leaving hair fragments beneath skin surface. When a hair tip or hair fragment penetrates into your skin, your skin can not adopt the new skin condition and begins to react against as it would to a unfamiliar body. As a result of this strong reaction, skin gets inflamed. In order to prevent ingrown hairs during shaving please take care of: 1- Damp the hair removal area with warm water. 2- Keep away from close shaves and try to use an electric razor. 3- Choose a sharp blade. 4- Apply a shaving gel. 5- Try to exercise a single-blade razor. 6- Shave in the side of hair growth but not counter direction. 7- Do not pull your skin nerves and muscles taut during shaving. 8- Clean the blade after every stroke. 9- When hair removal ends please apply a cool compress to the removed region.
