Intestinal Gas and gas pains can beat at anytime. It may strike while you are with your friends or in a crowd meeting room. It may not be possible for you to stop it. Although intestinal gas is a temporary state, it may be discomforting and a shameful situation. As a matter of fact, gas and gas pain is not a serious health problem. Well then what is intestinal gas and intestional gas pain? In medical term flatus or flatulence is an excretory system problem. This intestinal disorder is a result of our digestion process. The digestive system produces a mixture of flatulence and passes it to our bowels in order to be expulsed throughout the rectum. However, sometimes not only digestive system causes intestinal gas but constipation and diarrhea may lead it. Intestinal gas caused by constipation or diarrhea may give rise to severe gas pains. The intestional gas pains normally arise as a result of gas build-up that can not be expeled from your intestines. For nearly everyone, the signs of intestinal gas and gas pain are completely too clear. The flatulence show indications as: Sense of passing intestional gas either voluntarily or involuntarily. It may be sometimes as bulging out or flatusing. Having sharp cramps or cramp-like symptoms both in the upper and lower abdominal areas. Having breakthroughing abdominal jabbing pains or sudden replacing pangs. Besides gas pains cause knotted sense and feeling of fullness, swelling, pain or discomfort in both in the lower and upper abdomen, chest tightness, abdominal discomfort, constriction, and obstruction in the bowel. Gas pains are mostly forceful but brief. As soon as the gas is belched, your uneasyness often dissolves. Foremost in intestinal gas is not to mistake gas pains for the signs of serious illness such as appendicitis, gallstones and cardiac or heart diseases.

This is because consult a doctor if your intestinal gas pains go together with: 1- A persistent or recurrent pain or discomfort in bowel. 2- A severe nausea and vomiting. 3- Blood in stool or bloody stools. 4- A fever of unknown origin. 5- An unwanted weight loss. 6- A sense of cardiac chest pain. 7- A persistent or recurrent intestinal gas pain which exercise control over your daily life activities in a harmful way. Intestinal gas forms because of undigested carbohydrates in your small intestine. The undigested carbohydrates pass through to your large bowel called colon. A bacteria in your large intestine cause to ferment undigested carbohydrates. As a natural consequence a smelly gas begins to build up in your colon. Sorry to say, healthy and fibrous foods are often the worst faulties. For, foods rich in fiber plays a great part in formation of intestinal gas. Those who do not want suffer from intestinal gas pains must learn what mat cause to excess gas. Here are the causes: 1- Carbonated beverages as beer or carbonated non-alcoholic beverages as soda. 2- Constipation blocks gas and does not allow to pass, besides leads to bloating and pains. 3- Swallowing air may also be a reason. For, whenever you eat and drink, you swallow deuce of a lot air inevitably. Besides, being nervous, chewing gum, eating too fast and drinking through a straw may cause you to swallow air. This swallowed air passes through your gastrointestinal tract. 4- Excess gas may be a sign of more serious health condition such as colonic diverticulitis, inflammatory bowel disease, ulcerative colitis, Crohn’s disease or pyoderma gangrenosum with ulcerative colitis. 5- Antibiotic and laxative use may cause excess intestinal gas because of disturbing the natural bacterial flora in your bowels. 6- Food intolerance may be another factor.
